How to block LinkedIn on iPhone

Semo is an iPhone app that blocks distracting apps by asking an AI question that quotes your own reason back to you. This page is only about LinkedIn.

How do you block LinkedIn on an iPhone?

It depends on what you mean by a block. Screen Time can limit LinkedIn, and you can ignore that limit if you know the passcode or never set one. Semo asks an AI question that quotes your own reason, and you can dismiss it. The steps on this page are Apple's. Semo is not on the App Store yet. Price shown in the app.

Block LinkedIn with iPhone Screen Time

LinkedIn is easy to miss because it does not feel like the other social apps, but the feed and a job application are the same icon. On iOS 26, find LinkedIn by name inside the category list rather than limiting "Social" and hoping. On iOS 27, check Manage Categories. Notifications of posts are a separate pull from the limit.

iOS 26

  1. Select the LinkedIn icon, not a guessed category Settings, Screen Time, App Limits, Add Limit. Expand categories until LinkedIn appears, and tick only that. A job you meant to finish and the feed share this one limit.
  2. Set the time for the feed, because the application is included If you still need to submit an application today, do that before the limit, or set Customize Days. The timer will not pause for a form.
  3. Stop the "someone posted" alerts Settings, Notifications, LinkedIn. Turn off post alerts if they are why the app opens. Check Always Allowed afterwards.

iOS 27

  1. See which allowance LinkedIn is in Time Allowances, Manage Categories, then find LinkedIn. Set that category and the daily total. Do not assume it shares a bucket with Messages.
  2. The feed and the inbox are one app iOS 27 will not leave messaging open and close the feed. Both spend the same category once LinkedIn is in it.

Apple's steps: App Limits on iOS 26 and Time Allowances on iOS 27. A limit you set for yourself can be ignored if you know the Screen Time passcode, or if you never set one.

What LinkedIn's own limits do, and why they fail

LinkedIn's public controls are notification types, unfollow, and "not interested". We could not find a daily lock in its public help on 31 October 2026 that closes the app. The feed will keep offering posts after the message you opened. Turning off notifications does not remove the icon.

An example reason

Written for this page. Not a quote from a user.

I open LinkedIn to check one application, and the feed is why I am still scrolling.

How Semo helps with LinkedIn

Store that reason if it matches you. Semo blocks LinkedIn by asking an AI question that quotes it. The question cannot tell an application from the feed. You answer. No results have been published, and the app is not on the App Store yet.

Questions

Will a Social limit automatically include LinkedIn?

Not reliably. Check the icon inside Add Limit or Manage Categories. If LinkedIn is not in the category you set, it is unlimited.

Can I block the feed and leave job applications?

Not with Screen Time or with Semo as a filter inside the app. Both are LinkedIn. Do the application, then let the limit or the question apply to the next open.

Does LinkedIn have its own daily time limit?

We did not find one that closes the app, in public help, on 31 October 2026. Notification settings are real. They are not a clock.
